Opioids prescribers play a key role in preventing the development of substance use disorders. This CE course provides practical tips on how best to obtain good intra- and post-operative pain control. Information on how to identify drug-seeking patients and how best to manage them will also be covered.

1. Describe how best to use over the counter analgesics for pain control
2. Describe how to identify drug seeking patients
3. Describe what to do if you suspect your patient has a substance use disorder
