Can teeth with endodontic perforations be salvaged or are these teeth doomed to be removed? Dr. Ahmed Hashem gives hope that endodontic perforations can be treated. He defines endodontic perforations as mechanical or pathologic communications between the root canal system and the external tooth surface. Through a combination of literature review and clinical cases, Dr. Hashem explains how the prognosis of these defects is affected by multiple factors including position and size of the perforation, material used for repair and time lapsed until the repair.
