Endodontic management of immature permanent teeth can often present a challenge. Conventional root canal treatment may not be rendered with predictable outcomes in immature permanent teeth that have open apices. Often, these patients have traumatized anterior teeth or carious exposures in the posterior. On occasion, dental anomalies such as dens evaginatus or dens invaginatus present a unique challenge. This course will present the biology behind the sequelae of trauma and infection as well as the treatment of immature permanent teeth.
