Oral Surgery 101: Basics in Oral Surgery, Lecture #3
Course overview
Lecture #3 addresses two specific topics:
Preservation of Alveolar Bone and Gingival Architecture with New Instruments and Techniques for Exodontia. This segment goes into greater detail about which instruments and how to use them – including newer ones – to yield the simplest and least complicated results when removing teeth. Translation: fewer root fractures and intact alveolar housing.
Common Medical Emergencies in Dental Practice. This segment goes into great depth as to which common - and not so common - medical emergencies can and do arise in a dental office. The lecture reviews ways to better differentiate symptoms that appear to be similar but are not, and to enable the dentist to better diagnosis a patient’s condition that will lead to proper and expeditious care. The lecture will also discuss what should be contained in a medical emergency kit and how each medicine is used.
