Part of the UT Health San Antonio.
Medical emergencies can and do occur in the dental office, but are a relatively rare occurrence. It is difficult to stay “practiced” and remember everything to do when a crisis occurs. This course will review the more common medical emergencies in an office and discuss creating a simple emergency management system that will almost run itself.
Often, the doctor is the victim in an emergency and the office staff must be able to function effectively on their own.
This course emphasizes the critical role support staff play in emergency management!
1. The participant will learn initial management of several common medical emergencies which may occur in a dental office.
2. The participant will learn the components of a basic medical emergency kit.
3. The participant will learn the concept and mechanics of putting together a system that will greatly aid in effectively managing an emergency.
