SUCCESSFUL TREATMENT PLANNING OF ESTHETIC CASES

Course Overview

Treatment planning of esthetic cases can be challenging. The facially generated treatment plan protocol offers 4 steps to ensure successful treatment planning and sequencing. A combination of digital technology,  photography and codiagnosis offers the highest chance of success.


Objectives

In this course participants will learn:
1. Four steps to facially generated treatment planning (FGTP)
2. How to use pixelmator pro to predict treatment outcome 
3. How to use Meshmixer for digital wax ups
4. The 5 min full mouth mock up approach
5. Codiagnosis to increase plan acceptance rate
6. Funtional and esthetic crown lengtheing fundementals for the general dentist.

  • Ahmed I. Sabbah, DDS, PhD
    • SabbahA170Dr. Sabbah is a Clinical Associate Professor and Program Director of the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program (AEGD) at The University of Texas Health San Antonio School of Dentistry. He completed his DDS, PhD and 2 AEGD certificate at UTHSA in 2015. Dr. Sabbah received The University of Texas Kenneth I. Shine M.D., Award for innovation and the UT Health President’s Translational and Entrepreneurial Research Award for his invention of a web application used for clinical assessment of dental students. Dr. Sabbah has won several awards including: “Professor of The Year” in 2019, 2020 and 2022 and the “Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award” in 2018. Dr. Sabbah clinical expertise focuses on interdisciplinary treatment planning, digital workflow and clinical implementation for full mouth rehabilitation, On X and smile design. Dr. Sabbah has published several articles and has recently authored chapter I of the new “Smile Design” book. He has focused his current research on the use of digital software for smile analysis and 3D printing. Dr. Sabbah has been a PI on several grants has presented at numerous national and international meetings. Dr. Sabbah is a member of OKU honor society San Antonio Chapter and a member of ITI and AGD.
