Texas Brief AM Lecture/Participation Course for Dental Hygienists

Course overview
New ultrasonic instruments allow slimmer inserts to be operated at a higher power, and curved inserts for better adaptation. A case-based format will be utilized to introduce new techniques for improving calculus removal skills with difficult periodontal patients. Mary has attended and been asked to present at the Ultrasonic Scaling Teaching Institute. This course will bring the latest information in ultrasonic instrumentation in a combined classroom and “hands-on” session.
Objectives
By attending this workshop participants will:
Review the evolution of ultrasonic instrumentation
Review the anatomy of the root surface of teeth
Develop strategies to accomplish non-surgical periodontal instrumentation
Practice with slim inserts on specially prepared typodonts
Practice with curved inserts on specially prepared typodonts
