Claudia Isabel Contreras, DDS, & Donald Nixdorf, DDS, MS

PRESENTERS
Claudia Isabel Contreras, DDS, completed her dental education at the National Autonomous University of Mexico in Mexico City in 1998. In 2004, she earned her pediatric dentistry certificate from the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences campus. Following her pediatric training she completed a one-year fellowship in pediatric dentistry focused on pediatric sedation at The Children's Hospital in Denver, Colorado. In August 2005, she joined University of Texas Health, San Antonio as a clinical assistant professor, where she conducts research. Dr. Contreras serves as the pediatric dental director at CommuniCare Frank Bryant Health Center in San Antonio.

Donald Nixdorf, DDS, MS, Associate Professor and Director, Division of TMD and Orofacial Pain, Department of Diagnostic and Biological Sciences, University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Dr. Nixdorf’s clinical and teaching interests include diagnosis and management of chronic TMD pain, headaches and neuropathic pain. His research is focused on the topic of persistent non-odontogenic “tooth” pain, looking at issues related to classification, diagnosis, epidemiology, exploration of mechanisms, and treatment options. This continuing education activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the standards of the ADA Continuing Education Recognition Program (ADA CERP) through joint efforts between the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and the UT Health Science Dental School, San Antonio.
