Hypertension: Risk Stratification and Patient Management in the Oral Healthcare Setting
Participants in this course will be introduced to evidence-based knowledge essential for the risk stratification of patients with hypertension, the development of appropriate diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic strategies commensurate with a patient’s ability to undergo and respond to dental care, and the implementation of a hypertension-related wellness program.
Education Objective: Upon completion of this course the practitioner should be able to:
Discuss the current and accepted medical management of patients with hypertension.
Discuss treatment-specific, patient-specific, functional (exercise) capacity-specific, and procedure-specific risk factors and their impact on the dental management of patients with hypertension.
Develop therapeutic strategies appropriate for patients with evidence of hypertension.
Implement a hypertension-related wellness program.
