OVERVIEW
Effective January, 2005, the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners
now requires successful completion of a three (3) hour Continuing
Dental Education course in Jurisprudence every three years as a
prerequisite to the annual renewal of a dental or dental hygiene
license. This course will fulfill the new State Board of Dental
Examiners’ Continuing Education requirement in Jurisprudence
for both Dentists and Dental Hygienists. Recent changes in Board
rules and regulations will be discussed which will also better prepare
the practicing dental provider from becoming the subject of a Dental
Board investigation.
