OVERVIEW
Today's dental practitioner can expect to encounter an ever increasing
number of chronically ill or medically compromised patients requesting
dental care. The vast majority of these patients can and should
be managed in the outpatient dental setting. However, for any given
case a variety of treatment modifications may need to be undertaken.
Using a variety case vignettes, this participative course is intended
to review some of the more common medical conditions the practitioner
will encounter.
OBJECTIVES
To review the common medical conditions the practitioner will encounter:
• Cardiovascular disease
• Diabetes
• HIV
• Autoimmune conditions
