Bisphosphonate-Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw

OVERVIEW
This course will provide an update regarding patients who are prescribed bisphosphonates for the treatment of osteoporosis and hypercalcemia of malignancy and a review of bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (BRONJ). This will be followed by an pharmaceutical review of (BRONJ)

OBJECTIVES
• Review of the use of bisphosphonates in for the treatment of osteoporosis and hypercalcemia of malignancy
• Review of bisphosphonate pharmacology and clinical indications
• Review of proposed mechanisms of BRONJ and its clinical presentation
• Review prevention recommendations for BRONJ
• Review current treatment protocols for BRONJ

PRESENTERS
SIDNEY L. BOURGEOIS, Jr., D.D.S., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He obtained his dental degree from the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in May 1991 and completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2002.

GEZA T. TEREZHALMY, D.D.S., M.A., received his D.D.S. degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1971, continuing with his postgraduate training from 1975 to 1977 and obtaining a Certificate in Oral Medicine from the National Naval Dental Center. In 1987, he obtained his M.A. degree in Higher Education and Human Development from The George Washington University.

This presentation will provide an overview of income, estate and tax concepts and how to redesign retirement for dentists. Differences on tax rates between Dividends, CD and Bonds will be discussed, and how to create a tax efficient portfolio.

• Understanding the reasons to build a comprehensive wealth management plan
• Introducing the various components of a tax efficient portfolio and a wealth management plan.

PRESENTER
Ellis D. “Bud” Rainsberger, B.S., is President of Rainsberger Wealth Advisors, Inc., and advisory firm in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is a frequent lecturer to civic and professional groups nationwide, and for the sixth consecutive year, his firm was recognized by Bloomberg’s Wealth Manager Magazine, as one of the nation’s premier wealth management and consulting firms. He started his financial career for A.G. Becker, the predecessor to SEI, in Chicago, Illinois in 1980. He founded Rainsberger Financial Strategies, Inc. (now known as Rainsberger Wealth Advisors) in 1990, and serves as a strategic advisor to individual and corporate clients across the country.
