A Lecture/Participation Course
Minimally Invasive Implant Dentistry

William C. Roddy, D.D.S.

OVERVIEW
According to many of the most respected names in implant Dentistry, millions of needy patients have not benefited from inplant dentistry because of the expense and complexity of mainstream implant therapy. Recent advances in surgical techniques make it possible to treat the majority of implant patients in the general practice setting, not only with lower prices but also with decreased costs to the patient evidenced by fewer number of visits, decreased pain and complucations, and easier and less costly repair and rework. Recent advances in minimally invasive implant dentistry can make implant placement as routine as restorative dentistry. Flapless implant placement, interpositional grafting, crestal approach sinus augmentation, and immediate loading greatly increase both patient and Doctor satisfaction with implant therapy.

OBJECTIVES
• Understand how the multidisciplinary approach to dental implant treatment planning impacts the
costs of rework and repair.
• Describe the advantages of flapless implant surgery over conventional placement using a flap.
• Understand the various approaches to interpositional grafting, and indications for each approach.
• Know the potential complications of lateral window sinus augmentation and the advantages to the crestal approach for sinus grafting.
• Understand the indications for immediate loading of dental implants.
• Hands-on experience with the surgical sequence of several different implant platforms.
