Restorative Planning in Implant Dentistry

Norma Olvera, D.D.S., M.S.

The lecture will cover comprehensive restorative planning in implant dentistry. The presenter will discuss restorative options to implant success (What has worked/ What has not!) and cover clinical case presentations. In addition, the speaker will discuss how to enhance confidence restoring dental implants, as well as, providing better service to our patients.

• Discuss specific restorative planning principles for partially dentate and edentulous patients
• Identify causes of dental implant failures
• Explain restorative thinking in preventing implant failures
• Experience a detailed hands on session with restorative components
• Leave the course knowing basic implant restorative principles and ready to get started!

Norma Olvera, D.D.S., M.S., obtained her dental degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at
San Antonio in 1987. She completed her post-graduate training in prosthodontics and received her certification and Master of Science in prosthodontics. She is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

Dr. Olvera has been in full-time private practice as a prosthodontist in Houston, Texas for the past 20 years. She has extensive experience in the area of oral rehabilitation involving all facets of reconstructive of reconstructive dentistry with and without dental implants.
