The purpose of this course is to update the practitioner on appropriate assessment and management of the patient at risk for increased bleeding. A review of the recently introduced new anticoagulant medications will be provided, with a focus on their potential impact to clinical practice.
Objectives
Know the patterns of presentation of the patient at risk for excessive bleeding in dental practice
Review the relevant clinical or laboratory tests necessary to assess the patient at risk for increased bleeding
Review the recently introduced anticoagulant medications with attention to their advantages and limitations when compared to more traditional anticoagulant medications
