There are a multitude of common problems that affect the placement of dental implants, some minor and some major. A variety of surgical techniques and materials are available to correct these problems, however the materials and procedures can significantly add to the overall cost of placing dental implants. Many of these common problems can be overcome without adding a great deal of additional expense to the surgical procedure.
To evaluate and manage some of the common problems relating to horizontal and vertical bone discrepancies as well as devices and techniques to aid in implant placement and angulations. A brief look at important considerations when placing implants in the “esthetic zone” either extraction and immediate implants or delayed implant placement.
