Section 1: Risk Stratification of Patients with Diabetes, Mellitus, and Thyroid Dysfunction
Course overview
Participants in Section 1 will be introduced to evidence-based knowledge essential for the risk stratification of patients with diabetes mellitus and thyroid dysfunction and the development of appropriate diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic strategies commensurate with a patient’s ability to undergo and respond to dental care.
Please note: The mentioned objective #2 in Section 1 will be discussed in Section 2.
Objectives
After completing this section, the participant should be able to:
Discuss the current and accepted medical management of patients with diabetes mellitus and thyroid dysfunction
Identify disease-related, patient-related, and procedure-related factors that will impact on the dental management of patients with diabetes mellitus and thyroid dysfunction
