This section presents information regarding the importance of document of dental trauma, recognizing the relationship between overjet size and traumatic dental injuries. Procedures for a productive examination and diagnosis are included. Effect of treatment delay according to type of injury will be discussed. Hard tissue trauma will be addressed including infraction, crown fractures, crown and root fractures and root fractures. Also addressed in this course will be fragment.
Re-attachment and composite build ups including information on techniques and success rates. Hard tissue injury management based on treatment guidelines by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the International Association of Dental Traumatology are discussed. Clinical cases will also be presented. There will be a test at the end of this lecture to verify successful completion.
