Course Description: This course is designed to provide a better understanding of the healing mechanisms that translate in better clinical protocols for the management of trauma in the dental practice. This course begins with an introduction to trauma and the evaluation of the patient with dental trauma. Then, a review of classification, diagnosis and treatment of the traumatic lesions is presented. A review of the current guidelines for the management of dental trauma in the primary and the permanent dentition will be presented. Easy to use decision analysis and protocols for the emergency management as well as follow up and referral needs are included in this course. There will be a test at the end of each lecture in this course to verify successful completion. It is recommended that you experience these lectures sequentially.
